V.I.E (International Corporate Volunteer Work)

Students can validate international volunteer work in various ways in the context of their study programme:

 VIE: international corporate volunteer work

 VIA: international administrative volunteer work

 CSI: international solidarity leave

 VI: international civil volunteer work

VIE is a programme that allows French companies to entrust a six to twenty-four month professional mission abroad in the form of outsourced services to a young man or woman. UBIFRANCE, the national agency that manages this programme, is the company’s contact and the information centre of the Volontariat International CIVIis the young person’s contact.

How does a company benefit from recruiting a volunteer for international work?

This programme allows a company to test a young person before hiring him or her, while having total control over the selection of the volunteer and being exempted from any related management costs. Due to its public sector status, UBIFRANCE is in charge of the administrative and legal follow-up of the VIE. This is therefore a positive alternative to expatriation or local recruitment at an attractive cost, with a geographic area (up to five countries) covered by a single volunteer, who benefits in turn from a stay in France before being assigned abroad in order to train on the company’s products, services and culture. .

How does a student benefit from a VIE?

Access to specific offers, which are therefore complementary to internship offers

The benefit of a legal, favourable status (the amounts of the indemnities are set by UBIFRANCE based on the VIE assignment countries; insurance and social protection coverage is guaranteed)

The acquisition of a major professional experience

The acquisition of skills related to expatriation

The Pays de la Loire region has put a unique mechanism in place: financial support to regional companies that wish to use the “Volontaires Internationaux en Entreprise” service, with a commitment to pay 100% of the monthly VIE indemnity (up to 12 months) for SMEs in the region (those with a maximum of 250 employees).
