By the time you read this article, seven of ESSCA's third year students who are members of the "Horizon Cameroun" association will be in Yaounde (May 2 to 23, 2010) to launch a magnificent adventure. For a number of months, Horizon Cameroun worked on a humanitarian project and collected the funds needed from students, individuals and businesses. After having worked on educational programmes since 2000 with the phased construction of a school, as well as on the economy, with the improvement of harvest conditions for cacao and the purchase of a truck, the 2010 project focuses on health. In the village of N'Goma, 200 km south of the country's capital, the needs in this area are alarming and the installation of a medical dispensary will provide a partial solution, while increasing the autonomy of the local population.
Our students are proud to celebrate their association's 10th anniversary with this ambitious project, and they are exemplifying their values and those of the School in this endeavour. Their thanks go to ESSCA and all its students, as well as Jacques, their contact on site, the BDE and the federation of associations, the Rotary Club, the people of Angers and their corporate partners, KEIM, Deloitte and Lafarge, who have made this project possible.
